Stillness In A Noisy World

It is easy to get swept up in the noise of today’s world — constant emails, meetings, and external pressures can cloud our vision and decision-making. I place priority in taking time to find moments of stillness to maintain focus and direction. In fact, the more packed my schedule becomes, the more necessary it becomes for me to sit and be still.

A Moment of Quiet With Henry Shukman

When was the last time you took a moment of quiet, powering down your systems to feel deep down that all is well? In my latest podcast, Henry Shukman — poet, author, and Zen master in the Sanbo Zen lineage —shares how he embraces this practice. A Self- Compassion Practice

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or like every day is becoming such a struggle, you can try this practice. Find a quiet spot free from distractions. Close your eyes. Place your right hand on your heart and feel its warmth. Tell yourself you are doing the best you can. Acknowledge any difficult emotions and tell yourself it is perfectly normal to have strong feelings. End off by sending yourself some positive wishes. “May I be safe. May I be protected. May I find peace.” Say whatever speaks to you. If you say them aloud, it is very powerful too.
