Work Hacks
Propel yourself forward with insights you wish you knew earlier

We often underestimate the preparation needed for a difficult conversation to be carried out with skill and care. Whether it’s asking for a raise, disagreeing about a decision or giving feedback - effective communication with another doesn’t happen miraculously. Here’s a breakdown of how to prepare and approach a difficult conversation so your intentions are effectively conveyed. It doesn’t start when in the meeting room, it begins with heart.

A Dose of Zen
A simple practice goes a long way

A moment of stillness for self compassion
Find a quiet spot free from distractions. Close your eyes. Place your right hand on your heart and feel its warmth. Tell yourself ‘I am doing the best I am.’ Acknowledge any difficult emotions and tell yourself it’s perfectly normal to have strong feelings. That anyone in your situation would feel the same way too. Feel the warmth in your hand and allow yourself to slowly settle.

Skill Up
Updates from Deep Human Institute - house of my programmes

Deep Human Institute just successfully completed our first run of Deep Human facilitator training - The Art & Science of Facilitation Level 1 & 2 facilitated by myself and Dr. Gregor Lim-Lange - Co-Founder of Forest Wolf & Deep Human Institute, Chief Psychologist, and my partner-in-crime. This programme was designed to equip facilitators with the skills, mindsets and practical tools needed to create powerful, meaningful and engaging experiences. You’ll participate in highly experiential and transformative learning. There were laughs, tears and breakthroughs.

#AskMeAnything
Excerpted from my #AskMeAnything series on Instagram

You Asked: “How do you manage people? Do we really need to like people before we can be a leader?”
Managing and leading people starts with self-work. Being self-aware of blind spots and development areas and modelling a growth mindset of others. And yes, the best leaders have a heart for people and learning. I always say don’t just learn to lead. Flip it around. The best leaders lead to learn. They are curious about themselves (the world inside) and others (the world outside). What does being a leader mean for you?

Gem of the Week
A resource to nourish you

“The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is, there’s no ground".” - Chögyam Trungpa
