Wherever You Go, There You Are

One of my favourite sayings is this: Wherever you go, there you are.

You could move halfway across the planet and change everyone you know, but still end up recreating the same relationship dynamics, patterns, addictions and results if you do not pause to reflect and do the inner work.

Why Reflection Is Not Optional

Many of the questions I receive from my weekly AMAs sound like this:

  • I have so many things to do. Work, hobbies, self-improvement. How do I prioritise?

  • I feel like I have lost my sense of self in marriage or caregiving. How do I reconnect?

  • I feel busy all the time, but strangely unfulfilled. What am I missing?

The answers for the above lie in clarity.

And clarity can only come from learning how to listen to yourself again. This is exactly why Rachel and I created the I Am Well journal. We have a million things going on in our lives and just as many interests, so we needed a tool that would make us sit down, and reflect on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis on what is important. We can’t do everything all at once, but at any point of time, we should know our top one or two priorities and make sure our calendar and effort reflect and honour them.

On Dealing With Fears & Anxiety

My therapist once shared an idea that stayed with me: Anxiety is what happens when you believe the level of challenge is greater than the level of your resources.

When you invest in reflection and inner work, you build resources like calm, strategic thinking and equanimity, and outer resources like social capital, financial assets and experience. And it will give you the confidence that no matter what life throws at you, you will have the resources to handle it.

Stepping Into Your Next Chapter

If you have been feeling busy but disconnected, successful but restless, or simply unsure of what comes next, this is an invitation to pause and join Rachel and me for our I Am Well Goalsetting workshop to help you step into your next chapter.

Because the relationship you have with yourself shapes every choice you make, and every life you go on to build.

Much love,

Crystal
